Connect your podcast to YouTube (Beta)
With out YouTube connector you can connect a YouTube Channel and Playlist to a Podspace Podcast. When the Podcast is linked, you can upload video content alongside your audio content when creating an episode, and see stats for your audio and video episodes side by side. Publishing episodes will then automatically publish audio to apps such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and video to YouTube.
Getting started
Go to a Podcast in your Space and navigate to Distribution. At the bottom of this page you’ll see an option to link a YouTube account to this Podcast for distribution. You’ll need to log in to the YouTube account owning the Channel of your podcast and allow access for Podspace to publish content and fetch analytics data. Once your Channel is linked, select the specific podcast Playlist this Podcast should post videos to.
Please note that to be able to create and upload videos to a podcast Playlist, you’ll need to have your phone number verified for your YouTube Channel. Read more about YouTube’s verification layers here.
When creating a new episode, you have two options if you want it to have both video and audio content; upload one audio and one video file to the Media section, or just upload a video file and let Podspace extract audio from the video file.
Please note that as of now it’s not possible to upload video files to episodes that have already been published.
Add a thumbnail image for your video if you want.
Publish the episode, and the video will appear in the YouTube Playlist once it's been processed.
In the episode list, you’ll see an indication weather the episode contain audio, video or both. You’ll also be able to see some basic YouTube and audio stats side by side in the "Episode performance" dashboard.
Please note that this feature is still in Beta
Beta features is functionality that are available to use but is still in a testing phase. With Beta features, we want to test functionality on a wider audience before deciding to roll it our to the entire user base. We encourage users to try out beta features, but please be aware that:
Beta features might change quite quickly as we learn from the feedback provided by users
We might reach out to ask for feedback on your experience using the experimental feature
Pricing and/or price plan eligibility of features might change as they go out of Beta and are made generally available, in which case we’ll reach out to all current users in good time before the changes are implemented
