The podcast dashboards and listeners breakdown
Podspace provide stats and breakdowns on your listeners and distinct listens on Space and Podcast level. Podspace is compliant with the IAB Technical Guidelines for Podcast Measurement (see this list) and use IABs definitions for our key metrics.
Key metrics
Podspace provide the following key metrics.
Listeners
Number of unique listeners as defined by the IAB Podcast Measurement Technical Guidelines. A listener is counted as unique by a combination of listener platform and IP address.
Listenings
Number of listens as defined by the IAB Podcast Measurement Technical Guidelines. A listen means an episode have been downloaded to a player and is available for consumption.
Listeners breakdowns
Podspace also provide various breakdowns of your audience.
Reach
Unique listeners reached for the specific time period by day, week or month.
Episodes
Episode by episode comparison of listeners over time from release.
Geography
Regions where your listeners are located, in total number and share of audience.
Devices
The players where your audience listen to your show(s).
Demographics
Gender and age splits of your audience.
The difference between Space and Podcast stats
The difference between the Space and Podcast level stats is that for the Space the metrics are displayed for all your Podcasts combined, whereas the Podcasts stats only show metrics for the specific Podcast in question. For listenings the Space level is just an aggregation of metrics from each Podcast. Listeners work a bit different since one listener might have listened to many Podcasts in the network and hence can't be summarized from all Podcasts.
On the Space level, we provide listener breakdowns per reach, geography and devices.
Exporting data
It's possible to export all stats breakdowns as csv. To do this, go to the dashboard you're interested in and click the "Export" button.
